More about me
Dr. Jason Duncan is the founder and CEO of CBT Collective. He trained at two of the field's respected institutes, the Beck Institute and the American Institute for Cognitive Therapy, and has spent his career on the dissemination side of CBT as much as the clinical side: as a chair at Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies across committees spanning dissemination, its flagship convention, fundraising, and sponsorship, and as a board member of NYC-CBT. He also hosted Sanity Podcast, interviewing leading mental health researchers and clinicians on empirically supported treatment, which keeps him, and the clinicians he trains, current on where the field is moving.
Clinically, Dr. Duncan's range spans anxiety, panic, OCD, phobias, depression, anger management, insomnia, and couples and family work across adolescents and adults, giving trainees exposure to a wide band of case conceptualization. His approach is collaborative and logical rather than prescriptive: he built CBT Collective around the idea that good therapy makes a client their own therapist, and that same philosophy shapes how he trains clinicians here, building clinical judgment rather than handing over a script.
Approach to supervision: As CBT Collective's acting clinical director, Dr. Duncan sets training standards and oversees how they're implemented across the practice.
Certifications: Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (Diplomate)
